2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Oddbins London Bridge. Clear gold with very thin white head. Slightly buttery slightly estery aroma. More or less a standard golden ale in the mouth with a little bit of butter. It’s clean, but just a bit bland to be honest. Not great condition. Bit too clean.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle at home in London with Lyoli - picked up this bottle at Oddbins London Bridge. Pours perfectly clear, rich honey-gold with a slight, creamy white head. Aroma holds buttery biscuits and slight caramel, some doughy bread. Medium sweet flavor, lightly syrupy, some caramel, buttered biscuits, some hay, hints of toasted straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet malty finish, lightly toasted bread, still some dough, a bit more caramel. In it’s sugary simplicity it is enjoyable, but it’s not a great beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nov 2012 - unexpected flavour - sour, medicinal, enduring chemical flavour - antiseptic?, bit of lemon and spice. I’ve never had a wheat beer that tastes like this before. Not my cup of tea.

Half-pint, cask, shared with Finn at Southampton Arms. A headless, cloudy orange body coloured beer. Tart-sweet aroma. Taste of oranges, mid-sweet, and subdued yeasty fruitiness. A not-too-sweet weizen (London, 06.11.2012).

[330ml bottle, Drinkmonger, Edinburgh] Opaque peach-coloured pour, thin rim of bubbles around the glass. Aroma is tart yeast, wheat and sherbet lemon. Yeasty, herbal, lemon rind on the flavour, before the finish verges on the acrid. Not sure the yeastyness is helping, but there’s a good beer in there somewhere
