COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A complex copper coloured fusion of distinction. A big bold malty beer with an initial touch of sweetness and caramel derived from the Cara and Chocolate malts. This then gives way to the powerful and delectable kick of hops, with the Willamette hops giving a fresh, fruity and floral tone; followed up with a bittering finish, leaving the palate ready for another burst of flavour. Crafted in the small hours of an early Autumn night, this one should see you well, right through to Spring.

Cask at the Southampton Arms on 1st November 2011. Dark reddish copper with very little head/lacing. Aroma sweet with berries. Fruity liquid - sweetish berries, some pungency and floral hop. Finish bittersweet but I found bitterness somewhat lacking. Light bodied; mouthfeel smooth, light, watery.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’12. Copper with no head. Middling malty body, some sharp bitterness along with a baked clay type note, a hint of smokiness. The hops are bittering, leafy, earthy and dry. Wanted to love it but didn’t quite.

On gravity at the brewery open day. Now named Diamond Geezer. Sultanas and a hint of plum jam and grass on the nose. On the tongue it’s nutty and sweetish, with hints of pecan pie and a faint note of liquorice, the latter lasting into the bitter finish.

Cask at the London Brewers Showcase 2011. Pours dark red with a foamy, bubbly white head. Toast and ripe fruit on the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, big toasted malt character, some dark fruits, pumpernickel bread. Some mild, leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Ripe and slightly tangy fruits in the finish, toast, light caramel. Not bad.
