Available: 9 gallon firkin and 330ml bottles throughout late October 2012

A beer brewed on our 1st birthday - we decided to treat ourselves with a wonderfully indulgent Stout. Infused with only locally sourced, natural ingredients. Freshly picked seasonal raspberries finished with the best espresso. Too many flavours to mention and we don’t want to spoil the surprise...
We have some of the finest London roasted espresso in this beer, which we sourced from Nude Espresso. We conditioned this beer with their most prestigeous ’East Espresso Blend’; and it just happens Nude are based in the Old Trumans Brewery on Brick Lane....it was meant to be. We also conditioned this beer with fresh Raspberries, all picked in London.
This is well and truely a beer made from London, for London!

Cask conditioned handpump Southampton Arms London 30/10/12. A black beer with a whitish head. This is all about the coffee. I can’t ascertain any trace of raspberry whatsoever. And as I don’t like coffee I struggled with this. It’s really too strong of flavour. All burnt roastiness. Way way too much for me. Sorry.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours deep brown with a large, flesh tone foam head. Aroma holds dusty cocoa and chocolate-covered raspberries. Light sweet flavor, dirt, minerals, weak coffee, some baking cocoa. Light bodied with high carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, light dryness, some dusty cocoa, burnt dirt, wood, earthy bitterness. Somewhat flinty. Not bad overall.

Cask at Southampton Arms. Dark brown, gold head, aroma is roasty with a bit of fruit, seems like strawberry. Taste is nice enough, coffee grounds, lingering raspberry, not much else, not so complex, but not bad.

The Hope, Carlshalton. Opaque dark beer, little ta head. Palate is light and a little dry. For 3.6% the dark malts are quite robust with a little roast, fresh too. Nicely judged raspberry, fresh and very slightly tart. Mild minerals. Nice coffee on the back end and a good contrast with the front end raspberry. Finishes with a nice mixture of both. Thought this would be a mess but it works well.

Bottle. Colour is opaque black/very dark brown, off white head. Nose is big black roasted coffee, roasted malt, raspberry sour, dark chocolate. taste is lots of roasted malt, roasted coffee bean, then there’s some nice fresh rasperry sour. Works well together. Roasted bitterness with a bit of fresh raspberry fruit sour. Nice creamy foam head too. Finish is all black coffee bean. Graet for only 3.6% alcohol too.
