COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & 330ml bottle; Special - May / June 2012.

A traditional Munich Dunkel inspired with a thoroughly British touch! Named after the 19th Century Prince Consort, who much like our beer, hailed from Germany but has since been ingrained into British culture. Munich, lager and roasted barley malts from Britain tease those taste-buds: and using British, German & New World hops brewed with a German ale yeast puts a new spin on such an intriguing beer style. A truly complex & contemporary beer fir for Royalty…. Prost! And Cheers to you all!

Cask conditioned handpump Southampton Arms London 12/10/12. A dark dark ruby coloured beer with a whitish head. Has sweet and malty German tendencies, but with a UK hop influence. Some perfumed notes too. Nice sweet and sour flavours. Good stuff.

Cask at White Horse. It pours deep mahogany, with no head. The nose is wood, leather ,currant, umami aspect, meatiness and soy sauce. The taste is wood, leather, raisin, currant, smoke, pretty dry, miso, meat and soy sauce, with a long, dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation. A bit of an odd one, akin to old ale in many aspects.

Cask at The White Horse, London. Pours clear brown with a faint, white foam head. Tangy dark fruit nose, faintly roasty. Medium sweet flavor with leather, dark fruits, burnt wood. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish with more tangy, dark fruits, leather, very faint roast, light cocoa, some blackberries. It’s reminiscent of an old ale. Decent.

Cask @ The White Horse on Parsons Green. What better way to celebrate Independence Day by drinking a british cask interpretation of a classic German style!? Deep brown body with no head. The nose is deep roasted fruits, cherry and dusted brown nuts. The taste is light tobacco and sickly sweet malty fruit juice. Medium body, soft. Not my favorite dunkel.
