A Pale with a big character all to itself. Once in the glass it has an outwardly simple and easy going golden appearance but it comes with lots of baggage! A well balanced mellow malt gives the beer a clear and rich body whilst a myriad of well selected hops leaves the beer with a wonderfully crisp late bitter finish.

Cask@gallows bird real ale festival 2014. Pale yellow. Greeny hops, light body. Golden crackery malts, fruityness. Feels dull, pretty average.

Bottle @ Home (thx Floz) Clear golden pour, no head. Smells fresh, herby. Malty flavour, grapefruit, very bitter finish. Very tasty for only 3,8%!

Aroma: floral hops, some grass. Appearance: clear pale gold, no head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: light fresh bitters coming up, floral hops again, some grass. Overall: OK Golden Ale, could be more complex in aroma and palate. Pint at Summer Brew Fest, London Fields.

Cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 28 Jan 2013. Poured a hazy golden colour, with a halo of white head. Aroma of citrus hops, bready malt and caramel. Slightly herbal flavours, with biscuity malt and definite grassy hop bitterness. Finish was spruce, candied peal and chewy grain.

Danish yard, Coventry BF 2014, 04/04/14. Brilliant slim lidded gold. Drain and weak conifer nose. Soggy almost entirely cashew flavour; mineral heavy water, greasy pale nut, heavily cushioned hop punch. Lagery with an alka seltzer saltiness. Inoffensive but Pretty feeble.

Barrel at London Drinker 13.3.14. Pale golden bitter with no haze and minimal head. Little aroma, tastes like a light bitter with a solid lemon citrus which pervades (but doesn’t change) in the long finish. Some peppery hops in the mouth which disappear fairly pronto. Decent session ale for spring/summer.

Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Real Ale Festival 2014)
Lovely UK real ale aroma, some eggy sulfur, but I love real ale so much this is a smell of home. Very simular in the taste. It’s a classic simple English twiggy bitter. Finish undergrowthy and earthy. Damn, I’ve missed Real Ale.
