Scopey (6812) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2014
Keg at the brewery. It pours lightly hazy golden-amber with a thick white head. The nose is malt-driven, bready, toasty grain, hay and mild spice. The taste is crisp, bitter, breadth, toasty grain, pine, light sweetness with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent bready affair.

Bottle, at Kristiansand Ølfestival. A clear, golden beer topped by a small, off-white head. Green pine cones, peaches and some orange peel in the aroma, not much maltyness going on. That gores for the flavor too, where there’s a good bitterness overpowering the little malty sweetnesss there is. Pine cones, peaches and orange peel. It’s full-bodied, dry and with a nice co2 level. Lasting finish. Perhaps lacking a bit on the malts for an amber ale, but it’s sure a nice one. 140823

Bottle, pours a medium brown with a thin head and a nutty, slightly musty nose. Malty and dry-bitter, with peppery and burnt caramel notes but again with that musty note. Oxidised, sadly.
