Cask conditioned handpump Lamplighter Northampton 29/08 A golden beer with a white head and lace. Soapy and citrussy. A biscuity side to the malt. Reasonably hoppy with nice hop flavours. A touch of sherbert. Tasty enough and should have been served cooler.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 leaparsons (7069) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2012
Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Hazy pale gold with a bubbly foam. Aromas are melon, pineapple and grapefruit with base biscuit malts. Hints of loran honey with lemon. Flavours are very clean hops with mellow lemon and floral/spicy notes. Pithy bitterness on the finish with a dry aftertaste. Went down very quickly. Good.

Cask conditioned at The Town Wall Tavern, Coventry. Gold with white head. Interesting spicy notes with herbs, quite different to the normal Golden ales. Perfumed basil type flavour. Very strange.

Bottle.Exploded out of the bottle despite being stored correctly. Not a good start. Cloudy yellow appearance with a bitter flavour. Probably quite pleasant if bottled correctly. This is what gives micro breweries a bad name.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 22, 2011
Cask (gravity dispense) at Egham Beer Festival on 20 August 2011. Gold with a slight haze. Thin white head but lasted well. Excellent condition. Strong citrus and fruity aroma. More tangy citrus on the palate. Tasty stuff - very zesty and refreshing. Plenty of depth for the ABV. Good use of US hops.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DruncanVeasey (6112) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUL 6, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2012 500ml bottle from Alexander Wines, Coventry. Pours burnished with a slightly rocky, well-retained white head. Decent, flowery, slightly earthy hop aroma with suggestions of aniseed, pineapple, herbs (fenugreek?) and lime jelly. Crisp and pleasantly hopped with a good rasp of bitterness and husky malt to finish. Maybe could use a touch more sparkle and zest from those 3 US hops but as a Coventrian I’m thrilled a micro has finally set up in the city and is brewing and bottle conditioning stuff as good as this. Big bonus points. ’Hedonistic’ scale, right?
2) Just had a bottle of this with a really pungent, refreshing, Bazooka chew, gooseberry and lily thing going- a bit horsey, a ringer for Orval. In fact better than the crate of Orval I’ve got under the stairs- way more personality. Scored up from 737314=3.4.
