Cask; Regular. Also available bottled.
Our best bitter is stronger than other brewers’ premium ales. A combination of English Challenger and American Cascade hops and carefully blended malts give this ale a unique balance and flavour. A great pint.

Good English bitter - taste of malt, caramel and dried fruit with the fruity hops mostly coming through in the nose. Attractive red colour - small head with a bit of lacing. Not sure about the aftertaste though - there’s something slightly unpleasant in there along with the bitterness. Enjoyable overall though.

Nice red colour with a thick off white head. Nice aroma of American hops. Classic caramel and bready flavour. The hops do disappear reasonably quickly however. Overall a nice beer.

Poured a dark reddish brown with a medium head. Aroma of toasted malt and floral hops. Weak body, flavour of the aroma with light berry fruit and a dry, bitter finish.

Copper red with a small head and a medium to full body. This is texture over taste.

Bottle from Bernie’s Real Ale Off Licence, Solihull. Poured a slightly cloudy reddish brown with a huge frothy head. The aroma is dry and malty, but weak. The flavour is bold malty and bitter. The bitterness is dry and spicy and sits nicely on the palate. An exceptional bitter IMO and one i’ll be drinking again.

Dark amber color. Mild aroma. But the flavor is malty, with some dark caramel, better than the average similar ales, with a good bitterness level, and a light earthy character in the end.
Interesting.

In bottle at home. Pours a dark amber colour with a rocky beige head. Aroma of mandarin, pine, lemon, caramel and yeast. Similar flavours and nicely bitter with heavy carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Not bad.
