COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
THIS IS A COLLABORATION OF 13 QUÉBÉCOIS BREWERS.

A hazed golden amber saison with a thin off white head. In aroma, a smooth lactic malt with fruity notes, berries, very nice. In mouth, a nice spiced up saison with coriander, light orange peels, fruity sweet malt, quite nice. Bottle at Bieres et Saveurs, Sept 2 2012.

Thanks to jerc and mabel. Pale golden pour with a thick white head. Lovely pour. The aroma is great - minty and spicy with a bit of lemon and orange. A soft peppery character and a bit of clean spiciness. Fresh and fruity with a great balance of spice and and interesting peppery spiciness. Orange and a bit of spice. Really delicious.

My Bottom Line :
Peppery, lemony and herbal aromatics perform acrobatically within a frothy, airy mouthfeel for a colourful drinking experience.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A substantial head of foam rests atop the misty golden shine, lacing nicely.
-This is not your usual Saison (hello Labrador tea and super citrusy hops!), so it’s going to get ’love or hate’ reviews, I’m sure. It is impeccably rendered though, so bad reviews can only speak about the rater himself, I believe.
-Either Citra was used here, or lemon verbena.
-It’s hard to dissociate the hops from the spices, which is great thing imho.
-The spicy hop bitterness is compelling.
-The mouthfeel is super soft.
-There is a light cereal contribution flavor-wise.
-Yeast is perfectly dispersed throughout the bottle, creating but a fine veil throughout. There is no sludge at all at the bottom of the bottle.
-The yeast adds a few mushroom-y accents here and there.

Bottle.

Bottle an Andy’s courtesy of Paul by way of Dany. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Big and musky, soft and lightly sweet with a touch of citrus. Light and easy drinking with a good amount of musk with some floral bitterness. Very nice, long lingering musk.

Bottle 750 ml
Aroma pleasant fresh aromatic , soft wheat. Herbal hop notes with slightly yeasty backing. Ending with hints of plum and apricot. 8-
Appearance mild haze on amber. Thick fine creamy white top. Nice lace on walls.
Flavor and Palate : medium malt base. Spices , some tartness with mellow backing. Hop profile was well integrated. Felt to be lighter than specs would suggest. Grassy, fruity blend at finish.

750ml bottle shared by mabel and jercraigs with me, blankboy, radek and joemcphee. Hazy orange, huge white frothy/creamy head. Aroma - spice, yeast and bubblegum, some alcohol - grassy bitternuess underpinning it. Taste - follows, way more gritty mineral character, love it - probably a bit boozy, but I couldn’t tell. Light, sharply carbonated, long spicy dry bitter finish, a little lemon zest and fresh-cut grass - fantastic beer, really.

Bottle [750ml] shared with HogTownHarry, JoeMcPhee, Radek, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o j&m. Pours a cloudy yellow-gold with an average size long-lasting frothy white head. Aroma is fruity along with herbs and spices, pale malt and yeast. Flavour of buckwheat, lots of herbs and spices, some breadiness and a herbal/bitter finish -- odd, in a good way. Medium bodied. An interesting, really good beer.

In short: An original leafy/herbal golden Saison with a generous fruity hopping.
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed 5 months after the beer release.
The look: Mostly clear golden body topped by a medium white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is pleasantly countryside-rustic well integrate flowery pepper spiciness. Taste ha cookie dough, lemon muffin, tea leafs, fun yeast, citrus fruits, pineapples, herbs, a mild spiciness. Big doughy mouthfeel with a lively carbonation. Good attenuation. A bitterness that this more reminiscent of the some of the bitter Oolong or green teas I drink everyday than that of typical hop bitterness. An very original Saison that goes off the beaten path while still retaining the essential characteristics of a good Saison. A beer brewed for a local tv show about craftbeer called “Ça Va Brasser!”, because of television and beer my living room couch is now a reverse tanning bed.

750mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of floral hops, Belgian yeast, and some mild fruity esters. Flavour brings out quite a hoppy profile, with dry floral hops, some Belgian yeast and dry crisp biscuity malt. Really flavourful and dry on the palate. Quite complex, with a great yeasty character. Excellent saison.
