COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Harkening back to old world brewing styles, Cable Car handcrafts each and every small batch. This Amber Ale is 100% all-malt brewed in the Marzen Style. Rich and malty, it’s balanced with mild hop and smooth flavor. Enjoy the ride!

Note: Moved in 2008 from City Brewery to Genesee in Rochester, NY. Changed over time from a 5.7% beer to a 4.5% beer with honey added.

The aroma is malty with a tiny bit of toffee and citrus hops. The appearance is almost amber with a small but respectable head on it. The flavor is astringent with a bread like malt. The palate is OK but the finish is not good. The beer is not what an amber should be.

This beer is barely worth worth you time. malts have some burnt characteristics, yet the beer look too light for an amber and the rest feels a bit skunky. Watery palate and no finish.

Purchased at Winn Dixie in Madeira Beach, Florida. Poured an effervescent clear amber with a small fizzy white head. Light aroma of some citrus and faint toffee. Flavor is ok, with some light burned toffee and a lemon twist. Finish is pretty much non-existant. I can say I’ve had worse, but I would not seek again. I don’t care how small the batches are... this is nothing to shout about.

12oz bottle on vacation in Orange beach Al - Pours amber with a short tan head. Aromas of caramel with slight citrus and lots of extra frosted flake type flavors. Very average all around and nothing at all to remember.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2007 Recently downgraded, I don’t know if my palate changed or if I picked up a skunky batch. Buy with caution. Upon further inspection. I needed to bust the 3 rating for the sheer bargain. Nice malt taste. Slightly flat. Surprised to see it’s brewed by Camo beer. If you’re on a budget, give this beer a try.

Bought at Winn-Dixie in July of 2007. Pours a medium to dark golden with a small white head that quickly disappears. Smell is sweet and carmely, with a mild bittering hop presence. Taste is carmel malt; quite sweet but very nicely balanced with some a bit of hops in the aftertaste. Finishes rather dry. Quite nice for an inexpensive ($6) six pack.
