Light bodied boring industrial lager.
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 16, 2002
Another new beer found at Tacos El Asador. I swear, I’ve found more new beers there than the Esplanade Bier Markt. This is a corn-accented lager with heavy adjunct taste, a little bit of hop and little else. Reminds me of Labatt’s Blue in the way that they make a light lager taste kind of heavy (in a bad way).
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 argo0 (9224) - Washington DC, USA - APR 21, 2004
Sparkling clear straw body topped by medium white head. Aroma is corn sweet, grainy, with a slight trace of grassy. Taste is sweet, corn, light grain, no bitterness, slight metallic in the aftertaste. Light body.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 faroeviking (8805) - HAITI - JAN 4, 2007
Bottle bought in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. 4.5% alc. Yellow colour with
an average short lasting bubbly head. Sweet aroma of grains. Flavour is bit crispy, with grains and some hops. Short aftertaste. A pretty allright tasting brew.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 bhensonb (7579) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 6, 2008
Bottle. Light, crisp, grassy aroma. Pale gold color with a passing white head. Thin to medium body with creamy/fizzy carbonation. Flavor is pale malt with a very light touch of hop. Clean; refreshing. Not all that much to it. Finish is not obnoxious.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 hopscotch (7526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 4, 2008
Bottle... Clear, straw-colored lager with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The faint, sweet nose is of spent mash, clover honey and dried apricot with an odd, lesser note of raw beef. Light to medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. The flavor meanders slightly onto the bitter side of balance and supplies a snappy hop bite. Short, crisp, clean finish. Not a bad little lager. Pleasant, refreshing surprise on a warm, late winter day in the 7-7-2.

Straw color with a fluffy white dissipating head. Stale nut aroma. Not much here. Odd nutmeg and dry grain. Thicker feel with little to back the feel.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Skyview (4880) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - AUG 21, 2008
A beer to knock off Guatemala from my countries sampled by list. Sampled from 12-oz bottle and shared by LawStudent09, pours a clear light straw brew with a fast dissolving white head that dissipates clean. Aroma of creamed corn, a touch of red beets, grassy hops and a touch of honey. Taste is light bodied, well carbonated with a light flavor of corn grits, grassy hops and honey. Finish is semi-sweet with a corn and honey aftertaste that quickly disappears.
1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Dogbrick (4829) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 14, 2004
2 Guatemalan beers in a week? What are the odds? Odds are this one wasn’t nearly as good as the Moza Bock I had a few days ago. The beer is a pale yellow color with a thin white head and very little lacing. The aroma is kind of off-putting - stale vegetables and a little malr. Light-bodied and fizzy with very little flavor other than corn and a little hops. The finish is bubbly and pretty much flavorless. This beer isn’t heinous or anything, it’s pretty much like the soulless Lager you can find in any country.
