COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

Can. Reddish amber colour with a creamy white head. Soft aroma with malt & hops. Flavour is weak, some floral notes only. Thin.

Copper red with a nice head. the aroma is malty and fruity, the flavour is uncomplicated, refreshing and light with notes of hops, flower, summer and sun and a suitable bitterness in the surprisingly long finish. Easy to drink, charming, but don’t let it stand in the glass for very long, then it looses it’s magic of the moment, so down with it!!!

A bit wishy washy in my opinion, looks fine but tasted mediocre, nothing to write home about, smells weak, tastes wrong

Can with a nitro ball. Creamy, mostly lasting fingerthick beige head. Clear light brown body. Vague aromas of caramel. Notes of dusty hops and metal. Taste is bland and watered. Some malt-sweetness only. Thin body. Nitro-creamy mouthfeel. Slight sour/bitter finish.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2011 1) Foaming milky pour resolving into red amber. A trace of hops and lightly roasted malt in the nose. Ridiculously creamy, nitrogen-pumped body. Inoffensively watery flavour with a distant hint of toffee maltiness. 534210- 2.4. 2)Fuck, my early ratings stank. Can out of The Jenner’s Christmas lucky dip box- pure genius. Visually fascinating pour- like a lava lamp. It’s beautiful and slightly hypnotic but doesn’t belong in a beer glass. What little aroma escapes is surprisingly decent: malt loaf, extruded rabbit pellets and watery liquorice. Tastes of not much, which is a relief, really; Soreen, liquorice, dab of Baltic salt. Completely flat and confusingly....OK. 525210-2.4.

Good creamy beer, like both can and on tap, but obviously better on tap. Good taste to the beer.

Creamy tan head of one finger on a clear amber body. Very rich lacing on the pint glass. Aroma is weak yet inoffensive. Flavor is also weak with traces of malted barley and subdued hops. Mouthfeel is creamy at first and makes way for a moderately watery likeness near the end. I’d have to try this one again on tap.
