3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 wilderthanyou (587) - Guelph, CANADA - FEB 7, 2007
I’ve had this beer in both can and draught. Draught is much MUCH better, the normally sweet aroma when pulled from the tap is replaced with a tinny smell when poured form a can. The flavor is a bit more full when you get it fresh off the tap aswell. I really like this beer, like many of the other nitro widget beers, I find its a real tasty beverage to just sit around with friends and relax. Nothing special about this one. But not to be ignored either.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 sinkhole (258) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 24, 2007
UPDATED: MAY 14, 2007 Draught. Poured reddish brown with a thick creamy head. Sweet malted smells and tastes give way to a minimal bitter finish. Overall it doesn’t offend but it doesn’t stand out either.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2007 can from party in Canada - can we say that "ain’t what it used to be" should be appropriate. Had this beer while living in the UK back in ’96 and was introduced at the Old Banker in Epson while I had a beer drinking contest putting back 6 pints a piece against Andy the Pharamcist. Those were the good ole days!!!!! This beer has definatly lost much of the flavor it used to have and much more tinny- its a shame - then again still enjoyable with that Nitro head! I would have given the old beer a 4.......

Caffreys Red Irish Draught Ale. Can. Red-brown colour with a short lasting average head. Sweet malty and hoppy aroma with a little metal. Flavour is smooth with some sweetness, toasted malts, hoppy bitterness and some fruitiness.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 highlandlad (1319) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - DEC 18, 2006
A pseudo-Irish nitrogenated bitter now brewed in England but it could come from anywhere in Macroland, as frequent changes of brewer have demonstrated. As authentically Irish as Sean Connery’s accent in ’The Untouchables’. Looks as plastic-perfect as any nitro can - bronze with a fat mat of artificial cream. Typical indeterminate nitro aroma - bit nutty, bit fruity, bit metallic but doesn’t add up to much of anything. The creamy nitro mouthfeel masks the skinny body and the absence of any real flavour. There’s some hazelnut, highly diluted lemon squash and a few coppers. Minimal bitterness. No rough edges, making it very sessionable. Arguably one of the better UK/Irish nitro-brews but competition is weak. (440ml nitro can from Amatos. Best before 31/12/06)
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 bridge (659) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - DEC 10, 2006
Pretty much your typical nitro-can beer. Smooth, not much bitterness, aroma capped by the tight head, and pretty tasteless. "Boring, and watery", my wife’s comments say it all.

Had this one last night at Hoopman in Amsterdam after the I Am Kloot concert. Nice beer, not very special, just nice.
