COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

This is very easy to drink, however the lack of any distingushing tastes makes it just the same as any other nitro ale. Maybe a little better than most though.

Enjoyed at an Irish pub in London, on draft. Very enjoyable and smooth... creamy with a white head. Easy to drink, had a pint and enjoyed it.

London - Pours gold with a white head. It has a smell that matches its taste. That being a nice bitter finish, it was nice and smooth in my mouth and going down.

Creamy pseudo-head, very little aroma, watery taste and minimal bitterness. Not great. All right, I admit, I had a second can, mainly because it was an unusually hot day for England.

This is a pretty good bitter, nice thick head, with a creamy feel to it, decent if you are a bitter fan

I hate beer with the widgits in the can. They are always flat. The beer poured a light amber with a thick creamy artificial head. Flat and weak mouthfeel. A little malty, with notes of caramel and bread on the tongue. This beer was nothing to rave about. It was ok. I wouldn’t buy it for myself. A good freeby.
