COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

Quality ale that could be considered a lager. Creamy head and an almost sweet taste. Not a bad beer out of the can, poured into a pint glass!!! Cheers

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2006 I think I can not understand how you rate Ales, but it has a little bit of more character in it, it seemed to me that it was almost a lager. Blond and smooth.

Pale amber coloured, nice creamy head. Not smelling of much, only a bit "flowery". The taste is very light, but it is clean and a bit sweet. Even though my friends tell me this one is boring it is one of my favourites.

Great head, but light on the flavour. I really loved this one when it first hit the market, but the appeal wore off pretty quickly. Seems others agree - it is rare to see it on tap in Canada anymore.

Deep golden brown color with a head that resembles shaving cream. It had a sort of sweet caramel taste to it and was almost too smooth and really heavy. Definately a one time beer.

Blonde colour with a thick creamy tan nitro head. Faint fruity, musty aroma. Some caramel. Very similar aroma to Boddington’s. Flavour is almost non-existent. No acidity, no bitterness, with a dirty dishwater flavour. Not really bad, just incredibly boring.
