COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

Golden amber ale with a thick nitro widget head. Very faint malt aroma with light hops as beer is warming. Very light bodied, watery. Woody notes came out with very little sweetness. No hops in mouth. Boring.

Fruity/ cherry tart aroma. Smooth nitro head. Light flavoring all round and pretty watery. A waste of time.

Light amber color with a small but thick white head. The taste is very mild malty with a very light hoppy finish. Watery and boring. This won’t offend anyone.

draft/can: i had forgotten about this beer. untill a few days ago a buddy of mine pulled a can out and offered it to me. not a very interesting beer but easy to drink. similiar to boddingtons or wexford. not as much flavor as wexford. mosty the nitro thing with some suttle malt hop flavors, very disapointed in robertsreality, you go all the way to london and drink this crap in a pub, havent you heard of cask beer? dont know if this one is around anymore but not much of a loss.

Had on Tap at the Angel & Crown in Covent Garden, London with fish & chips. The lighter side of Guinness?

Another brew that i’ve seen time and time again and never bought.Well i decided to lay down the money this time and try it.Nice copper brown color, small off white head that hung around for a short time then faded to nothingness.Mild malt aroma with a light fruit presence and the hops make a faint showing. The flavor was decent with a nice malty side a little bit of toffee and some what sweet at first changeing to a mild bitter in the end with a slight toffee malt after taste. Not a bad brew at all.Well worth ahving a few around for later this summer.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2005 Canned. Nice copper color, cascading effect that condenses into creamy head. Smooth texture, goes down easy. Not a lot of flavour, but on the other hand it comes off a kind of refreshing as a result. Can is impossible to open without it going everywhere.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2004 What's with this "ale"? The only thing ale-like about it is its colour - a nice rust. Flat and flavourless, the only thing it has going for it is it is completely inoffensive - no fake bubbles and no chemical taste. I taste nothing here!
