COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
May alse be / have been produced at Tadcaster.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey’s Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor’s Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.
The ABV was reduced from 4.8% to 4.2% in 2001 and, in March 2010, was further reduced to 3.8%. ABV may vary in export markets.

Caramel, bread and some fruits in the aroma. Amber with a white head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Light to medium body with a average carbonation. Overall totally OK, but it has a bit of an unpleasant cardboard like flavor in the finish and is quite boring.

A decent session ale but quite thin without a massive pungent hit. Decent colour. Dark Amber. And cold ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Simple bitter. Can be creamy, can be flat. First alternative to simple pale lager.

"Slightly bitter, lightly sweet, and a creamy texture combine for a nice ale, if a bit on the simple side. Looks great of course, coming from the nitro can. not a favorite style, but this is nice."

On tap at The Nut House in Eastbourne. Pours out in a hazy deep blonde colour with smooth head and smooth body. Aroma of mild hops and straw. Taste of mild hops, light nuts, wheat, light barlley, light malt, bread and flowers. Easy drinkable and very refreshing.
