COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey’s Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor’s Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.
The ABV was reduced from 4.8% to 4.2% in 2001 and, in March 2010, was further reduced to 3.8%. ABV may very in export markets.

Widget alert! Well this looks like a draught beer. Smells like, er, nothing. As for taste - it tastes of watered down cream, UHT cream at that. Crap.

Orange, keggy head. Aroma’s malt, I guess. Palate is simple maltiness. Taste - I guess there’s some beer here. Won’t kill me, but just oh so blah...

Warning! Early amateur rating! Smooth palate. Creamy malt - a little rich. Some mild hop. Actually not too bad - was slightly better on Draft.

Was foamy, otherwise a bit amber and nothing special to look at. Little in terms of taste, on the bitter rather than malted side, however there is caramel. Creamy mouthfeel, not too carbonated.Could not finish it. A bit of floral hop smell.Light bodied.

Can Medium high creamy and lasting white head. Clear amber body. Sweet apple pear aroma. Mild sweed smooth and round fruity flavor with little hops bitterness, low carbonation and swhort aftertaste. Pretty thin and watery.

This is very easy to drink, however the lack of any distingushing tastes makes it just the same as any other nitro ale. Maybe a little better than most though.

On tap at Weaver's Arms in Waterloo. Beautiful cascade, creamy body and mouthfeel. A bit of a fruity note. Vastly prefer it to Kilkenny.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2003 An orange beer. A little watery. Tastes fruity and alittle metallic. Not much of a body, and not a beer i will remember for very long.

soft, creamy, bland, dissappointing, no real flavour and boring, no character whatsoever.
