COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised nitro-keg and nitro-can beer.
"A smooth, creamy ale." Introduced in 1994 as a 4.8% Irish Ale by Bass at Caffrey's Ulster brewery, and promoted strongly with an advertising campaign of "strong words softly spoken". Interbrew took over in 2000, soften the recipe and attempted to catch the lager market, using a new promotion of "a storm brewing". Coors acquired the brand in 2002. Initially contract brewed by Interbrew for Coors at Ulster, the brand eventually moved to Coor's Tower Brewery in Tadcaster.

Can. I liken this to a pale version of Guiness Stout. Creamy, with full head. Not fizzy and not flat, very soft and smooth on the tongue. Very pleasant slightly, ever so slightly, fruity taste with no unpleasant after-taste.

I am going all out for this beer. I cannot get it in Phoenix any longer, so I am not sure of its availability in America. I first drank a Caffrey’s in the airport at Teesside England. It was my draft beer while in England and I still think it the best I ever had. It has a creamy foam which takes time to form. Alcohol is 4.8% by volume.

Probably the best Irish kind of beer, that I have ever tried. Creamy, tasty... I love it, when I ordered one on draft at a local bar.
