COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Liquidambar, our flagship beer, is a lightly hopped American amber ale. Liquidambar is a crisp, malty beer with a beautiful caramel color. This brew is finished with a healthy handful of palisade hops that impart an incredible balance between malt and hops. This sessionable beer is made for drinking.

Pours a nice clearish amber with a good buff head. Aroma is not strong but temptingly malty. Delightful flavor is malty and surprisingly hoppy, almost like an IPA. Lively mouthfeel has a strong, firm, lasting fizz. Heartily recommended.

Looks great. Smells like nothing. Tastes like a Belgian tripel, but without the zesty body. What body this does have, however, keeps this beer interesting without becoming overpowering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at the Nook. A deep amber color in the glass with an off-white head that settles to a ring and left light lacing. Aroma of toasted malt with a hop backing. The flavor also found toasted malt, with a light citrus and spice assist. Medium body and a light toasted malt aftertaste.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2012 Draft sampled at Magic City Brewfest. Poured a deep amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma and flavor were lots of malt, caramel, some fruit, some spicy hops. Flavor is malty and smooth, a bit of fruit, mild hops. Almost drinks like an English pale ale. Medium mouthfeel. Looking forward to drinking this one on tap around town. One of the best ambers I’ve ever had. ----- I’ve now had this twice more. The first time, it was very disappointing. Much thinner in flavor and mouthfeel. The last time I had it, last night, it was quite good again. Lots of flavor, if not quite so knock-my-socks-off as the first time I tried it. The good folks at Cahaba seem to be having some issues with consistency. Here’s hoping they get things worked out; this brewery has a lot of potential.
