Can 440ml. @ PBF2012.

Clear light to medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing to lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, toffee notes, light cardboard. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20120728]

Canned at PBF. Clear bronze colour, small head. Floral caramelly nose. Sweetish with light body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Husky with some resiny bitterness.

can at home ... amber .. thin white head ... light metalic hop ... sweet fruits nose ... bitter front ... soft sweet malts ... light pine hop ...again hint of metalic hop ... light sweet sugers ... ok but not great ... some orange and pineapple tones... for 2.8 this is pretty decent.

Can 440ml (PBF, BB 01/2013)
Clear amber color, small white head. Papery, light vegetables in the nose. Light bodied, watery palate. Cardboard, some caramel, dry maltyness. Close to water.

Tinned, 440ml from Tesco, Banbury. Carbonated amber with short lived head. Thin, watery malt mix, no hop impact despite the Calcutta Pale Ale moniker. A gnat p**s of a beer. Very poor.

Can (thanks to the Lake of Constance!): Clear, light amber coloured, stable small white head, mineralic-metallic nose with some fruity malt underneath; light sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied to watery; short and thin malty-fruity finish with a discreet bitterness. Not a really necessary brew...

Can. Dull golden brown with a firm off white foam. Aromas are toffee malts with biscuit and traces of pineapple. Hints of metal with dusty yeast. Flavours are light biscuit malts with soapy detergent and a hint of citrus. Low nuttiness with a soft hop finish. Average.

440ml can from Tesco Exmouth. Clear chestnut brown, fluffy head. Very light-bodied, malty, nutty with a shy hoppy finish.

4pack from the plush new Beduth MegaTesco. Handsome can- bonus point for the elephant. Best thing about this metallic, messy piss of a beer. Not pale but russet with a slim off-white lid. Orange barley sweets, raffia, smear of honey aroma. Metallic with caramel, barley sweet, wooden and biscuit notes. Finishes with a poisonous, paracetamol bitterness. No idea what I’m going to do with the other 3 cans of this- I won’t be drinking them. Flat and watery, with metallic off-notes. Not a good advert for this new sub genre of 2.8% beers.
