A Gold medal winner in the international brewing industry awards 2000, and a three times bronze medal winner at the Great British Beer Festival in the Best Mild category, this is a smooth, full flavoured, truly dark mild with a rich creamy head. It has a full body and distinctive roasted malt taste, balanced by its fresh hop character. Complex flavours and aromas are achieved by blending deeply roasted malt and adding a selected blend of English hops.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2008 440 ml can thanks to Doppelganger. Pours dark black with a awesome thick light-brown head. The aroma is fairly light; roasted malt and light chocolates. The taste is just what is claims to be: a mild ale. Full of roasted malt and caramel, bitter dark chocolate and hops. Awesome. This is not a beer that will blow you away, but it doesn’t claim to be. Easy drinking but tasty, and a awesome mouthfeel. Thanks Casey.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2008 Nice tasting beer. Would go great with apple ’n’ eel pie. Or pair with baked beans on toast. I think I’m having a nervous breakdown.

Tinned, 440ml, pasteurised from Asda, Leamington Spa. Dark brown with white head, carbonated. Heavy mild, quite thick on the pallate although tricky to get the flavour through the carbonation. Some coffee and sweet malt, but little else. Worth a try though.

(Can 44 cl) Courtesy of Bov. Clear, dark, reddish brown with a small, beige head. roasted, slightly burned aroma. Very light in body, watery and a little flat. Burned malt accents, a whiff of smoke and ashes. Lightly sweet with a subdued bitterness. This for sure is proof that even a light beer can be rich in flavours. 310807

Can. [Courtesy of Papsoe, another great session @ Papsoe] Small brown rocky head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Dark mahogany color. Aroma of light toasted malt, brown sugar, hint of smoky and light buttery notes. Over the palate the smoky notes becomes more evident and there are no trace of brown sugar. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Light bitter and sweet flavor. Sweet malty finish. 31-08-2007

(44 cl can, thanks rickgordon!) Black color, brown head. Sweet grainy malty scent, some moist pipe tobacco. Roasted coffee taste, though rather thin and sugary. Thin mouthfeel, low bitterness. Sweet and roasted aftertaste.

Canned. Dark brown colour. Light brown head. Darker aromas with sugary touch. Light sweet in flavour, that is felt pleasantly with lavender and tad licoricy in finish. Low-medium body. Long finish.
