4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 sodakotakid (161) - Belle Fourche, South Dakota, USA - DEC 30, 2012This is a great 3.2 beer. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. This beer is creamy goodness, it has a sweet and roasted dark malt flavor. There is also a great chocolate and coffee taste with a yummy hoppy under tone. The only negative to this beer is it is slightly watered down.

Can and served in GI Imperial Pint Glass: Pours a medium brown with an initial creamy head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of crystal, chocolate, nutty and a hint of Fuggles and Challenger hops. The taste is moderately sweet with chocolate and caramel overtones support by light handed hop bittering. The mouth feel despite the creamy head is thin and metallic. While my homebrew Dark Mild is better, this is also far better than the Cains Bitter I had before.

Can courtesy of Deanso. Poured dark mahogany with a thin round tan head. The aroma is dry and dusty. The flavour is roasted malt with dark chocolate. A tasty mild. I’d like to try this on tap.

Can shared from Deanso. Pours almost black with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and light chocolate. Flavour is light sweet and bitter. Light bodied with soft carbonation. A very nice mild beer.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chinchill (586) - South Carolina, USA - MAR 25, 2013
14.9 ounce (440ml) can. Pours crystal clear, chestnut color; with a good sized ivory top of sudsy foam that soon reduces to a lasting top coat and ring.
Smell: Plenty of roasted malt with hints of baked bread and roasted nuts. Improves upon warming.
Taste: Mainly mild toasted malts. Some faint English hops towards the finish, with a mildly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, but too thin-bodied and watery. Near medium carbonation.
Overall: seems most suitable as a thirst quencher or accompaniment to a meal. Good beer to give newbies who think dark beers are "too strong".Also noteworthy as a low ABV beer with fine aroma and a substantial malt load.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 TizzleJizzle (375) - Garland, Texas, USA - FEB 23, 2013
14.9 oz can. Deep mahogany brown color with beautiful khaki head and great lacing. Bland taste of roasted malt and cocoa. Hardly tasted like anything. Overall boring, pass.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 JDBaker11058 (922) - Maryland, USA - FEB 19, 2013
Appearance:dark nut-brown pour, almost cola-like, with a short, very creamy medium-tan head. Aroma: nuts, hot cardboard, a bit of brown sugar and molasses. Taste: very subdued flavors, with a focus on nutty, brown-bread malts with just a hint of unsweet maple syrup and chocolate. Finish: smooth and creamy, with a surprising coffee-ish roast lingering. Notes: My first experience with a ’mild ale’. Not terrible, but nothing to write home about.

Can at World of Beer in Land O Lakes. Pours a near black dark chocolate brown. Creamy beige head. Roasted malt aroma. Flavor has nice coffee and roasted malt notes. Nice, full flavor for a 3.2% beer.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 fidelis83 (1589) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - JAN 17, 2013
Pours dark brown with a creamy, somewhat thin, tan head that has decent retention, but eventually fades to nothing, leaving no lacing. Aroma of roast, toast, nuts, english yeast, mineral and light smoke. Flavor is nutty, light toffee sweetness, planty hops, english yeast, light metallic notes, tree fruit skins, light bready yeast and earthy hops. Light dry, minerally body with a light and soft, though slightly sharp carbonation. Nice, decently full flavor beer, but not something that I could really make a night of as the mineral and planty hop notes get a bit tiring after a glass by itself, much less so with pub grub type food. Definitely a nice beer to have one or two with lunch.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 joshmcg000 (203) - Iowa, USA - JAN 15, 2013
Pours black with tan head. Aroma is dark malts, brown sugar sweetness. Very smooth and creamy, similar to Guinness int texture. Crisp and refreshing with a dark roasty malt taste. Slight hops bite, but overall a little bit watered down tasting, which is why its so refreshing though. A pretty good low ABV beer.

Black, creamy white head. Subdued aroma. Flavour of some dark malts, soft chocolate and coffee. OK for the low abv.
