Cains FA is no small beer: despite its deceptively pale golden colour, it boasts a big, smooth flavour and strong punch. Brewed with the finest English malts, and conditioned in cask with dry hops to produce fresh hop aromas and a fuller flavour, delighting the mouth and stimulating the tongue.

Nuffield (3087) - Roseville, USA - JUL 14, 2002
Nice white froth of a head, on top of a light colored beer. First taste made me think ’IPA’--a burst of hoppiness. Similarly sharpish aromas, hop and a bit of honey (although not sweet). Some alcohol effevescence as a product of its 5.0% abv. Overall very good. (on tap, Turf Tavern, Oxford)

cains used to be great, this is a sad indication of the current state of play used to be known under its moniker of formidable ale, now known locally as f*****ng awful avoid.

berkshirejohn (3014) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 13, 2011
Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell - ABV 5.0%. Bright straw with a compact white head; grainy aroma with some tropical fruit; syrupy in the mouth, with more grainy, floury, tastes and a little fruit; then a lightly bitter finish. Not very exciting.

albertane (378) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 27, 2008
Cask at Doctor Duncan’s, Liverpool. This is a good, well rounded bitter. The flavour has sweet malt redolent of dark fruit with a decent amount of dry hops in the finish. Not quite as good as the 2008 Culture Beer.
