[500ml bottle, Booth’s, Preston] Deep ruby red colour with decent white head. Unsurprisingly the prime aroma is raisin, and the prime flavour likewise. There’s a touch of prune juice in there as well. Can’t really taste much hop – mostly juicy red fruit from start to finish. Depends if you like raisins or not, which I actually do [01082007]

This tastes like an average bitter, no strong flavours come through and I couldn’t taste the raisins very much

(bottled) The concept of a raisin beer is cool , especially in something like an Imperial stout , this is ok for what it is. butterscotch like malt nose , with earthy hops , but im not getting raisins. Its rich and malty , there are some raisin like notes on the palate , but subtle for a beer that has raisins in the name and bottle pic. Its more like when you get raisin flavours in big dark Belgians or Stouts.

500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 5.0%. Deep golden to copper colour, moderate white head. Fruity aroma with distinct notes of raisins and grape juice. The flavour is a fairly nice blend of malts and raisins, not too sweet, with moderate hops in the finish and aftertaste. Quite enjoyable.

Light amber color out of the bottle with a thin white head. Fruity raisin and apple nose with some malty sweetness. The flavor has the malty sweetness along with plenty of dried fruits, raisins and apples. There is a greenish hop finish. Interesting fruit beer. Thanks to Secret Santa for this bottle.

A sweet smooth beer with a smooth malty finish that has something going on that maybe raisins! But it’s very subtle!

Bottle; 50cl, Morrison’s supermarket. Poured into Wandsworth beer festival glass, no head, golden copper appearance, murky. Aroma is very sweet malts. raisins and toffee. Taste is raisins, sweet malts, toffee, some butterscotch, metallic off-taste, bone dry texture, very very malty, caramel and plum. Feel this has been kept badly and is a little shot.

Bottle. Sweet light raisin and barley malt aroma. Dark amber color with large head. Lightly sweet raisin, toffee malt and lightly bitter grassy hops. Medium body. Raisin beer didn’t really sound like it was going to be very good but this surprised me - Very nice beer.
