2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 DanielBrown (2717) - Birmingham (via Leicester), - OCT 15, 2004
Hand pulled at JDW, Paradise Forum, Birmingham. Fuzzy orange colour, no head. Light, peachy flavour - unexpected and pleasant (initially). Morphs through the back of the mouth to an odd, almost grapey, gripping, metal, shelving flavour. Better beginning than ending - leaves an aftertaste verging on unpleasant.

Wetherspoon Giddy Bridge Southampton beer festival Autumn 2009. Sweet smelling malty beer with sweet dried fruit body. Fairly one dimensional.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 wyzzywyz22 (1525) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - NOV 23, 2009
Cask, Doctor Duncans, Liverpool. I always have this when I see it, and this is my favourite Cains beer by a distance. Refreshing, pleasantly fruity and very moreish. Far more appealing than a lot of boring, samey UK ale out there and long may they keep producing this.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 berkshirejohn (3014) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 17, 2009
Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Amber with a thin cream head; fruity malt aroma; the sweet juicy raisin flavour is very pleasant and slightly spicy; the finish is dry, sweet and fruity. Overall well-balanced and not dominated by sweet fruit.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bobinlondon (1179) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 16, 2009
Handpulled cask at JDW Harrow on the Hill. Deep amber with an of white head. Raisins seem to come through in a predominately malty profile. Interesting.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 imdownthepub (7470) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2009
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Copper colour with white head. Sweet and fruity, strangely of raisins I reckon, although thankfully not over the top. Slightly thin in the finish, but reasonable.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SilkTork (4736) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - NOV 12, 2009
JDW Rochester. This does exactly what it says on the tin - it tastes like a fine raisin beer. It has a vanilla sweetness with a dry rusty finish. It’s OK.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 sm89walt (1419) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - NOV 5, 2009
Cask - West Gate Inn (JDW), Canterbury. Pours amber with a very fine, off white head, which makes only a fleeting appearance. Raisin on the nose with blueberry and a hint of rum. The raisin is more subdued on the palate, being a subtle overtone to a standard spicy malty base. Smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation and a short, light grassy finish. Different, yet not bad. Not OTT on the raisin with enough beer taste to keep it from becoming cloying.
3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 wheresthepath (1083) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2009
[Cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Deep amber, slight off-white head. Strong and tempting fruity aroma. Raisin is clearly evident in the flavour. Very smooth, mellow mouthfeel. There’s a dirty bitterness in the finish but ultimately it gets rather sweet and sickly by the end.
