A regular winner of awards for quality and flavour, and winner of the silver medal at the International Brewing Industry Awards 2002, this refreshing yet full-bodied bitter is a favourite with beer drinkers everywhere. The rich flavours of premium malt and goldings hops are unmistakable in this well balanced, traditionally brewed bitter.

16 oz can. Pours a clear brown with off-white head. Aroma is nice, notes subtle dark roast, nut, yeast and faint burnt caramel. Flavor is much the same with a very balanced, enjoyable subtle earthy bitter in the finish. Mouthfeel is light body, just a tad watery but seems full. Over all, very enjoyable, well made simple brew, very much enjoyed!

On tap: Clear dark amber/orange coloured. Huge white head. Not much going on in the nose. A little hoppy. Flavour has a fine bitterness and is a little fruity. Ends with a pleasant bitterness. Good beer, which is still served at Smørum Golfcenter. Drunk april 2003 and was wrongfully placed under the cask-version.

440 ml can purchased at Rimann Liquors in Prairie Village, Kansas. The pour is a slightly hazed copper, with brown and golden, along with a well formed 1 1/2 inch off white head. This beer fills my Samuel Smith nonic pint glass perfectly. The aroma is gentle caramel malt sweetness, toasty malt and a nice earthy mineral. The taste is quite soft, cracker and caramel malt, followed by floral bitterness that bites nicely through the introductory sweetness. There is an interesting milky fruitiness to the finish which is (far) more pleasant than it sounds. The palate is medium bodied, very creamy mouth feel, low soft carbonation and the dry, slightly mineral bitter finish. Nothing about this beer really wowed me, but in total, I really enjoyed it. Nice beer to have around the house.

Low alcohol bitter... doesn’t really deserve to be in the same category of others. Carbonation is high, and creamy. Bubbles stuck to the side of the glass. Smell is weak toffee, carbonation, barnyard funk aroma. Moutfeel is decrepit. Taste is slightly roast, mostly toffee flavors with a thin body. High carbonation. No real presence of hops, just a slightly bitter finish. Overall clean hidden yeast, also, not the usu.. old world brewing heavy on the honey flavors. Exactly what I would be looking for on a hot summer day, with more flavor depth than a lager. Enjoyability 4/5.

Gift from SJ. I enjoyed this bitter. Some interesting points. A good blend of nut, dry hop, bitterness, bread and smoke. Its finish was sweet, but not overly.

Purchased from Jungle Jim’s world market in Fairfield, Ohio - Alright, this dark copper (more like brown) hued bitter brew was light in body but was still tastey... a fine session beer.

440mL can. Clear dark copper color, off-white foam. Very little carbonation, which in this offering is welcoming. Mild taste, some nice toasted grain, wooded hop character. Light nutty barley aroma. Finishes with an unique calcium character, leaves alkaline. Very refreshing after a long 12hr work day.

440ml can. Pours dark amber with a thin wispy white head. Notes of sweet caramelized malt, chewy raisins, wood, toffee, nuts and resinous dates. Medium bodied, lightly sticky with soft carbonation. Enjoyable, but not exceptional.

Brown color and a nice white head that lasts some time. Mild aroma of malt and yeast. Flavor is surprisingly sweet, some raisin, with a very smooth palate and a dry finish. I had low expectations from the scores but this is a good beer.

Light brown/copper color.Good head tiny nitrous bubbles creamy semi thick whipped eggwhite like. MIld lacing. Sweet toffee nut, buttery aroma.Mild/slight hop herbal/spice maybe. Taste is caramel, pretty sweet, some mild hop herbal/citrus,nutty,butteryish, smooth, candy like finish(toffee)some lingering mild bitter. Overall: its a little on the sweet side but pretty tastey for a 4% beer, almost a nutbrown.
