LordCrabapple (70), Merseyside, England May 4, 2008 Updated: Oct 25, 2008Rather nice, I have to say. Quite drinkable. Cheap enough, too, for this old miser. yngwie (3762), Kristiansand, Norway Nov 26, 2007 Bottle. (tasting at papsoe’s) Clear, copper beer with a dense, off-white head. Malty, slightly roasted nose and flavor. The flavor has a vague but pleasant hoppy fruityness and bitterness as well, especially towards the finish. Medium, quite dry mouthfeel. A bit brown-ale-ish for a bitter, but a decent beer indeed. (071006) Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 8, 2007 (Can 44 cl) Courtesy of Bov. Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. Light in body, light notes of nuts, an edge of cardboard and a vague, underlying tartness. Dry finish with a subdued bitterness. 061007 Magicdave6 (4092), London, Greater London, England Jun 3, 2007 Canned. Aroma gives me sweet hints of spice, grassy hop, but its a bit minimal. Taste is a similar game fruity and hints of pepper in there, leaves a good fruity maltness in the mouth and is very drinkable. I dig this actually, and i can buy it from the shop directly across from my house im talkin i could talk to the owner from my front door. harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Mar 27, 2007 440ml can from Asda, Liverpool. Rich deep chestnut colour with thin off white head. Malty bitter aroma. Some digestive biscuit rich malt. Some candy sugar in mouth before bittering hops kick in . A fullish decent bitter ruined by pasteurisation. Otherwise it carries a fair number of items from the cask version, especially the bitter hops on the finish.
