Did you know that IPA stands for Indian Pale Ale, and that it was originally brewed for sale in India, becoming popular in the UK following a shipwreck in the Irish Sea in 1827, when barrels of IPA were auctioned off in Liverpool? IPA is one of Cains’ best selling ales: a refreshing session beer, with a subtle hop aroma and a light, yet full flavour

Can from Tesco. Pours a dirty gold colour with a thin white head, bit of malt and hop in the aroma, the taste is watery and a bit sour with a dry finish.

3.5%, amber no with head, very little aroma, watery taste and not much hops at all, very poor. It was like a very cheep 2.0% supermarket own brand beer.

Can. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of matl and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a lightly bitter finish. The body is ligth. I find it boring.

Can 0,44: Clear copper/brown coloured brew with an bitter taste and some hints of sweetness. The beer names says IPA, i thought IPA’s were more higher in alcohol. This is just an Bitter, but a nice one.

Can, 44 cl: A clear pale amber beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is more nutty than hoppy with vague notes of toffee, a little caramel and even less fruity hops. Light in body, low in carbonation, thin in texture - this IPA is not even refreshing, it’s just plain boring. Dry finish.

Koelschtrinker (7038) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 31, 2011

440 ml can in Germany with thanks to shrubber85. Pours a gold color with a small white head. Aroma is strong pine oil and cleaning fluid. Taste is a weak pine oil and cleaning fluid. Palate is soft and weaker than the taste. Pretty much crap in my taste pattern.
