2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 10, 2011
On cask (handpump) at Great British Beer Festival, day 3 on 6 August 2009. Amber colour. Fairly clean and dry. Despite the colour, this comes across more like a traditional bitter - I’d hope for rather more assertive, zesty hop presence in a good golden ale. I can’t imagine the American hops were used in very generous quantities. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Respectable but not exactly exciting.

Cask at GBBF 2009. No sparkler. Gold, no head. It’s ok, some toffee, touch of hop. It’s not exactly interesting, dullish bitter. Some bitterness on finish but ultimately a little under done.
