3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle kindly shared by Stefan at a rating session. The body is black as pitch. Tan-coloured head, diminishing to a remaining layer. Loose lacing. Roasted dark malts to the nose with moderate hints of liquorice. Slightly roasted taste with a touch of dried fruits and earth, mid-sweet. Roasted ending as well. Smooth and nice in the mouth, a little thin bodied though (Tårnrommet, Tromsø 15.05.2014).

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Dark brown. It’s very sweet, w a fair bit of butter that might in smaller quantity add roundness but here is really too much.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Meny Oslo City. Tanned finger-thick cream head. Near black body with ruby edges. Coffee up front, set off by a whiff of dark dried fruits and mild earthy hops. Creamy mouthfeel, good body. Soft bitter-sweet malt flavor. Creamed coffee and gentle roast. Mellow coffee-accented malt finish. Another well-crafted bottle (i.e. pasteurised and filtered) from Cairngorm.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Scents of roasted smokey chocolate malts, hints of hazelnut oil, dried berries, sweet mocca coffee.
Body black-brown, head beige diminishing, moderate laceworks inside my mug.
Taste of chocolate malts, nuts, dark berries, mocca coffee, hints of sweet liquorice.
Smooth to palate, just a little dry. This moderate abv stout is really easy to drink,
for those who normally prefer standard lagers/pilseners. Recommendable.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
black as the night. thin head. extremely nutty, smokey, cheesy? nah, that’s just the nut... hints of coffee and licorice. a little thin but easy to drink (can’t have just one) and exceptionally full-bodied for the abv. still, this is one you really want on cask.
