Bottle. Red amber body, medium head. Herbal aroma with a hint of ginger. Taste is hoppy with herbal elements similar to nettle and dandelion milk. Bitter finish. Good, but not very harmonic.

Bottle. Herbal, grass nose, ginger, spices and light malt. Copper-brown color with lace. Flavor of nettles, ginger, caramel, ginger. Dry and a bit dusty, with a somewhat vegetal bitterness at the end. Nice dry finish, though. Interesting, rather strange, but good enough.

suurjuust (1101) - ESTONIA - OCT 9, 2011
Ruby red, medium off-white head. The aroma is an interesting blend of ginger, herbs and malty sweetness. Thistle and malt in the start, ginger and hops in the finish. The aftertaste is more thistle and bitterness. Body is a bit watery, the balance is a bit off, but this is an intriguing beer nonetheless.

500 ml bottle. Edinburgh, Scotland.
Clear copper colour with average size fluffy light tan head. Some strange sweetness, fruits and herbs in interesting aroma. Flavour is mildly bitter, some fruity hops, sweetish malt and hints of metal. Might be also thistle, but Iíve never tasted a thistle so Iím not sure. Enjoyable tasty Bitter.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy bright reddish-amber color. Good off-white head with good retention. Aroma is roast malt, caramel, and dried fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, butterscotch, raisin and grassy hops. Medium bodied and lightly carbonated. Smooth-drinking, but not something I would seek out on a regular basis.

Pours out of the bottle in a clear dark amber colour with steady head and flat body. Nose of hops and nuts. Taste of medium bitter hops, caramel, toffee, nuts, leaves and woods. Light hints of roast. Easy and nice to drink, yet not very quaffable or delicious. Solid Bitter.

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2014 Bottle from Aldi. Clear amber/brown body with a thin off-white head. Light carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lightly roasted malt, fruit and a touch of metal. Flavour of malt, earth, ginger and red fruits. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft carbonation. A straightforward Bitter.

500ml bottle. Contrary to other reviewers I didnít find this to be an ordinary bitter. It is bittered with thistles as well as hops, a fact that seems to have been lost on others. The thistles are noticeable in the flavour with a spicy, weedy and earthy flavour. That said I prefer my hops so donít think this improves the beer, it just makes it a little different. Iím glad I tried this but I have tasted better beers. Credit to the brewer for keeping old traditions alive.

500ml bottle, L3232, bought at EuroSpar Tomasjord. Shared with Richard. Amber coloured body with a shade of brown, clear. Slowly diminishing beige head. Earthy malty nose with a touch of floral hops. Taste of herbal spicy hops, thistle and ginger, joined by mid-sweet malts. Fruit bitter twist to the ending. Medium to thin bodied. A bit different and quite nice to drink (Easter gathering at our place, TromsÝ 18.04.2014).

Bottle: Clear, amber coloured, mid-sized, slowly collapsing lacy head, zoasted-malty nose with discreet hints of Golding hops; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, smooth MF; distinctive peppery bitterness in the finish. Pleasant stuff........
