COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Only ratings for the cask conditioned version should go here. There is another entry for the bottled version.

A light golden, almost continental lager style beer with a gentle malt flavour. The variety of hops creates a subtle bitterness subsiding to a smooth flavour and aroma. The Cairngorm Mountains stand supreme in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, their vastness and natural unspoilt beauty and abundant wildlife set them aside as some of the finest mountains in Europe.

Cask @ JDW Inverness 071212
Golden amber, clear, thin dense white head, some lacing
Aroma - pale caramel malts
Taste - pale caramel malts, spicy hops, cereal malts, sweet honey malts, some butterscotch
Palate - medium body, oily texture. Finish - fairly dryish, bitterish spicy hop with sweet honey malts
Overall - It isn’t one of my favourites from Cairngorm but it’s not bad...certainly above average

On cask at The Caley Sample Rooms. Pours a gold colour with a lacy white head with large bubbles. A musty honey and caramel nose with similar flavours and some tar. Yeasty, pepper finish. Not my favourite.

Cask conditioned, Gravity poured at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Burnished Gold with off white head. A bit of an off note to start with, the old butterscotch hint, but then it flowers in to a fruity, light beer, plums and strawberries, squidgy ripeness. Would have liked a little more bitterness, but overall quite reasonable.

Pint at Sir Walter Scott (Weatherspoons) at EDI. Medium brown and hazy. Fairly thin head to start with that disapears.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 4 Dec 2009) Golden colour with foamy, white head. Fruity nose with notes of apricots, citrus and honey. Fruity taste with apricots, citrus, grass and malty sweetness. Rather light body. A decent golden ale, but a touch too sweet for my liking.

Cask-conditioned at the Victoria, Clifton, Bristol 29/01/09. Dark gold with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, strawberries and floral hops. Flavour began with a whiff of diacetyl, before some more fruit and a good dry finish. Drinkable.
