COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle.
A pleasant mahogany coloured best bitter, malt predominating, gives a satisfying fullness of flavour. A glass or two of "Nessie’s Monster Mash" is a must before seeking an audience with the monster. The legendary monster is a source of constant speculation and rumour as he watches from his lair deep in the dark and mysterious depths of majestic Loch Ness.

500ml bottle: best before 28 May 2013. Poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 30 Dec 2012. The beer looked good: deep reddy brown body with a full biege head on top. Malts all the way in this brew: semi-sweet and fairly mild roastiness wise is both the smell and taste. Some hints of peat smokiness try and sneak into the flavours along with dark chocolate and a hand full of mixed nuts (unsalted). Pleasant enough and although a ’tourist-beer’ it was OK.

0.5l bottle. This is a clear light cola brown one with a good looking big light brown head that’s leaving some serious lacing on the sides of the glass. On the aroma it has a good cola sweetness. Could of course be the imagination, but I clearly smell old still cola here. Also, it has a light herbal tone, almost grassy. Not extreme, a bit sticky sweet and definitely not bad. It’s really thin and watery on the mouthfeel unfortunately. Wasn’t expecting a full-bodied experience, but this was really thin stuff. Flavors however is quite nice. Lots of internal, thin sweet, really earthy flavors with traces of both cocoa, bitter almonds, chocolate, light roasted malts, really thin coffee and biscuits. Mmhhh, lots of flavor packed in a really thin beer. I’m enjoying it more and more, and it’s really lightdrinkable. Not bad. 24.04.2013

Bottle, purchased @Meny Oslo City. A finger of shiny sand-colored head, covering a clear (as claimed) mahogny colored body. A slight acidic dark fruit nose, to some dryish toasted light caramelly malts. Body is light plus. Dryish, light diluted malt base. Subtle bread and caramel. A light earthy bitterness is lurking under. Short malty, subdued bitter finish. Overall, a pretty decent one. Would love to try it from well conditioned cask.

Bottled. Dark amber with an off-white head. Aromas are toffee, roast malts and berries. Flavours are fruity and toffee malts, quite sweet with an earthy, dry finish. A bit thin with bloating carbonation. Not too bad, though.

some friends brought this over from scotland for me. poured deep brown with a tan-mushroom head. malty wet nose with roasted nut essence. mouth continues the same malted toffee flavors not particulary sweet but non impressive on the palate. needs more substance and less water.
