Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Brown with slight head. Caramel, thick syrupy toffee, mouthcoating and really quite off putting. Didn’t get any further than that flavour really.

Cask @ JDW Elgin
Dark chestnut brown...thin off white head...good lacing
Aroma of dark caramel malts...bit of roasted malt...no hops
Taste - caramel malts...some toasted malts...hint of chocolate...bit of bitter hops in the background...bitter burnt toast comes through in the middle
Palate - soft carb..thin to medium body. Finish - bitter lingering roasted finish.....rather over burnt and a bit harsh
Overall - a bit above average....the finish lets this down

On tap at JDW in Edinburgh airport. Pours dark, amber and hazy with a proportionate head. The nose has biscuits and dark chocolate. The taste is like a bitter with burnt biscuits on the end. The palate has a medium body, a medium thick texture and a slightly burnt finish. Overall, it started average and went slightly downhill thereafter.

Cask conditioned handpull at The Edgar Wallace, Temple. Deep chestnut with lasting beige head. Bit appley, some decent malts. Not a huge hop presence. Drinkable malts though, touch of coffee.
