Cask conditioned gravity dispense Northants Beer Festival 2011. A chestnut coloured beer with a whitish bubbly head. Fruity berry malts with toffee notes in the nose. Malty and bready in the mouth. Certainly on the sweet side but gets away with it.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JohnRMurdoch (2251) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - JUN 2, 2011
Cask @ The Bon Accord. Oaty malty aroma. Medium brown colour, reasonable head. Flavour is malt & slightly sour caramel. Smooth with bitter sweet aftertaste. An average bitter.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Borresteijn (3644) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 4, 2010

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Oakes (10935) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - OCT 13, 2010
@ Kay’s Bar. The aroma is mostly buttery with a little bit of toast. Bright, brown with a thick head. Toasty palate, light bitterness and some diacetyl as well. This brewery has a lot of this sort of problem from what I can tell.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - SEP 17, 2010
Cask @ Kay’s Bar. Great dark brown with luminescent copper hue. Served with sparkler. Overwhelming butter in the aroma, but it’s just within the realm of acceptability. Some sweet malt character too. Soft palate. Butter dominates, unfortunately! But the malt character is nice. It is all dark bread and raisins. Butter be gone! Otherwise the beer is nice.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hayduke (2928) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 4, 2010
From a hand pulled cask in Avimore (where it is brewed). This poured copper to brown color with a big creamy tan head and very stick lacing. Nose of roasted malts, and ripe fruit. Good robust body and a slick and oily mouthfeel. Flavor is rich and full of fruits, and the finish is long, dry, and bitter. Excellent in all regards..
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 5, 2010
Cask (gravity dispense) at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival, 4 February 2010. Surprised I had not rated this – I must have overlooked it when the cask and bottle versions were split as I had rated the bottle. Copper colour. A decent enough standard bitter with the emphasis on caramel malt. Some toffee and nuts. Just a dab of earthy hop. Fairly basic but pleasantly drinkable.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Svesse (5196) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - DEC 12, 2009
(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 8 Dec 2009) Reddish brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with notes of dark fruit, caramel and hints of coffee. Malty, slightly roasted taste with nuts, coffee, dark fruit, caramel, toffee and a mild spicy bitterness. Below medium body, dry. Nice, tasty and highly drinkable.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 larsga (5324) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 17, 2009
Small offwhite creamy head slowly settles. Slightly hazy yellow body. Fruity sugary floral aroma with resiny notes. Sweetish-dry dusty resiny wooden taste with strawy grainy notes. Smooth, mild mouthfeel, though very dusty. Clean, fresh palate. Dry dusty wooden grainy aftertaste with floral notes. Excellent! (0.25l cask, Oxford Bar, Edinburgh.)
