Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Goldeny orange colour with mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is caramel malts, mild spicyness as well as quite strong floral and sweet wooden notes. Flavour is bready and caramelly malts along with some mild fruityness, floral notes as well as some herbal notes. Quite rich carbonation, which tickles the tongue.

2010-01-26. Crisp yellow body with a foamy white head and lacing. 3+ Pleasantly fruity aroma is quite mild, muted pale malts. 5+ Flavour is similarly quite fruity, sort of an elderberry like character (checked the label and apparently it contains elderflowers), light bitterness throughout. Average palate. Okay, fairly mild overall but pleasant. Bottle from Wine Centre, Kilkenny

Bottled 50cl. It pours an almost clear golden beer with a nicely lasting lacing head. Refreshing with decent hops and elderflower showing up. Flat palate. Highly drinkable and ideal for summer. Slightly dissapointing.

50cl bottle, as pictured. Pours a clear yellow golden with a modest, creamy white head. OK retention, decent lacing. Appealingly intense aroma of grapefruit, spices and yeast. Medium-bodied golden "speciality" ale with moderate carbonation. Full, crisp mouth feel. Flavour is deliciously balanced: up-front citrus fruit and herbs (elderflower, mostly), with malt in the background. Herbal notes dominate the middle and the dry finish, slightly sour and still elderflower-y finish. Nice, dry hoppy after taste. A strong, characterful "herbal ale" that is both refreshing and intriguing. Very sessionable due to bother the citric feshness and the rather low abv. Different, yes. But good different!
