3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 unstablefable (210) - SCOTLAND - FEB 10, 2013
Pours a clear dark amber, with a large two finger white head. Aroma is thick with caramel, little bit of raisin. Taste is biscuity slight bitter Edge to the sweetness. Nice smooth mouthful,
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 flying_pig (614) - SCOTLAND - FEB 4, 2013
Bottle (£1.59 from Sainsburys):
Light on the nose with some earthly hops and nice, roasted malts along with a touch of sweetness and some light grain. This is rounded off with some bitterness and a touch of toffee too.
A deep copper colour that is clear and topped with a two fingers tall, foamy white head that settles in a nice, thick looking dome shape.
Pretty much like the aroma with some earthy malts and hops plus a bit of bitterness that compliments the sweet malts. It is more bitter towards the end with a sort of burnt caramel/toffee taste as well.
Medium with moderate carbonation and an almost creamy, bitter feel to the beer with a touch of grain and a dry finish.
This looked great but started to fade after that, it had a nice body and a good creamy palate but it was lacking in both taste and smell with the beer relying too much on the earthy malts and hops taste.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 rosenbergh (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 5, 2013
500 ml bottle. L2053. BB 28/08/13. Hilpeä Hauki, Helsinki, Finland.
Clear dark coppery brown colour with tiny light tan head.
Wood, malt, nuts and dark fruits in aroma.
Flavour is some raisin, dark fruits, some malt and mild hoppy bitterness. Not that interesting.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 johninmelb (1005) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 2, 2013
Slightly musty nose with some rich and spicy malt notes such as liquored raisin, cinnamon and molasses. Pours a deep amber/brown. Flavour is smoked malt with complex characters of licorice, vine fruits and buttery malts. Finish is long, detailed and moreish. Not bad at all.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20 VMeth (28) - - DEC 31, 2012
Strong fruity amber ale. Not overly bitter, indeed there is a certainly oaty sweetness to it.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JEK69 (360) - FRANCE - NOV 13, 2012
It pours amber with a white medium foam head.
Soft caramalt flavours with a soft bitterness.
Smooth balance. Medium palate is crispy, lightly bitter in aftertaste.
I drunk that beer in Aberlour area with a "cullen skink" (kind of soup with salmon fish, potatoes and cream).
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MalcolmTucker (513) - SCOTLAND - SEP 29, 2012
Bottle. Dark ruby with a cream head. Aroma is a mix of fruit and caramel malt. Buscuit, caramel and fudge initially before a bitter hop finish. Balanced and enjoyable, a well realised ESB.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 BlackHaddock (2356) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - SEP 26, 2012
At home: 500ml bottle, best before 28 Aug 2013, poured into a UK pint sleeve on 26 sep 2012.
Lovely amber coloured body with a full, deep foam head, like an off-white snow blanket.
The nose is all about roasted and toasted malts: they indicate a rich, strong malty brew is below and they are not far wrong.
The taste as the aroma suggests is malty molasses with some butterscotch and caramel added into the mix: this isn’t overly sweet though, so some hops must help to give it a balance and slight bitter finish.
The body feel isn’t as rich or creamy as the nose would have you believe: this is robust brew more than a smooth one. A Winter Warmer sort of beer without the Smoking Jacket.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheCametron (1296) - CZECH REPUBLIC - MAR 10, 2012
mahogony with cream coloured head. Grassy nose. Caramel and ripe fruit flavoured malt on the taste. Very nice.
