Bottle. Relatively still copper beer. Aroma is amber ale and a sweet chili scent. Flavour is a straight forward amber beer with huge chili notes that build in intensity in the finish and aftertaste. The flavour is much better if drunk with food. For what was intended I could not suggest an improvement.

Sampled at Calapooia in Albany, OR--Poured a hazy golden-straw body with a medium fluffy white head. Mad chili nose featuring a variety of spicy chili notes and some malt graininess. Flavor was sharp and spicy from the get-go. Fiery burn down the gullet and lingering pepper heat down the back of the throat. Very peppery even for a pepper beer. Not a beer I could sit and drink a lot of, but very interesting and would probably be a great beer to cook with.

4oz Taster - Spring Beer & Wine Festival - Portland, OR
Aroma – Lots of chili aroma. With some nice malt background.
Appearance – Golden in color, Nice light head and clear.
Flavor – Deep Chili flavor with a kick at the end. This really had some good chili flavor. Not much else a good festive beer for the party crowd. Cinco De Mayo for sure.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, good texture with a Hot fiery finish.
Overall – Party beer for the big crowds and this will give you a hot mouth and wanting ore cold beer. This is a one time drink beer.

On tap at the KLCC brew fest 07. An interesting chili beer, interesting because it was stronger then most chili beers, but had more flavor of those non-spicy green peppers. There wasn’t much heat up front, it just grew in the finish, light smoked flavors grew, but never really developed fully. This beer tasted like a good starting point, but they need to give it more character or maybe change the pepper blend a bit, just tasted to much like chomping on those big green peppers.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2007 Draft at portland Spring beer and wine fest. This beer poured an amber copper color with 1/2 a finger white head. Good aroma of malt and fresh peppers. The flavor starts off malty and then you get the green pepper flavor. The hops are barely noticeable. Tastes exactly like green peppers though. Spice builds up after awhile, not overwhelming but pretty strong. Wish this had more complexity or some other kind of peppers other than the green kind. I did not like this beer but it seems good for what it is supposed to be. It tastes just like green hot peppers.

Super duper spicy. A golden ale with a hell of a bite. Almost hard to drink because it is kind of unsettling. Probably good with spicier food as a compliment.

on tap-pours a thin white head and yellow/gold color. Aroma is chili. Taste is mild burning chili with staying power, medium malt. Mild carbonation. Interesting.

Bottle:   Amberish pour, a little dirty, head is lacing and sudsy, little lacing.   Fresh and earthy green peppers on the nose.   A bit mild on the tongue, peppery, not too hot, but all of a sudden it hits the back of the throat.   It seems to build over time, continually having to clear my throat.   Softer than the Six Rivers I had before this, but still seems a bit of a novelty item.   Moderate body and mouthfeel, leaning towards the thin side.   They need to pick a heavier beer and throw only a little pepper at it... but these spiced beers that seem to be just peppers, tough to finish.   Another drain pour.   Its not bad, I just can’t deal with drinking liquid peppers.
