3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355ml bottle enjoyed at La Internacional Cerveceria in Cozumel, MEX.
Pours with a fizzy and short-lived head.
The aroma is lightly spicy-pepery and has a hint of molasses.
The 9% ABV is apparent in tasting but partly hidden in the feel, but the light touch of chilies make this a bit diffcult to judge.
Flavor: mainly a nice mix of alcohol esters and dark malts; slightly too sweet; light coffee and chili pepper.

Rica pero le faltan grados para que corresponda con el estilolas imperial Stout deben ir de los 8.3 a los 12.7 y esta apenas llega a los 8. Le falta el punch final del alcohol

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 355ml. A pitch black beer with a small red hue at the bottom and a big creamy brown head. Aroma is of chocolate, coffee and piloncillo. There is also some acidic and somewhat unpleasant aroma. Taste is sour with a lactose character. A very spicy imperial stout. One of Calavera’s best beers, yet not one I liked very much. I think this beer lost its imperial stout character with all the spieces.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 355ml. Opaque dark brown, with a large, frothy brown head and nice lacing. Sweet, sticky aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dried fruits, toffee and a subtle spiciness. Medium bodied with flat carbonation. Sweet and salty, with a strong bitterness and astringent spiciness which even makes you drool a bit. Alcohol is well masked. Well brewed and with an unmistakeable quality. Unorthodox, and perhaps slightly awkward on it’s own, but goes very well with Mexican cuisine. One of Mexico’s top stouts.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
0.355l bottle. Black body, light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, cream, coffee and some floral hops. Lots of chocolate in the taste with coffee, cream, floral hops and a hint of the chiles (only the taste, it’s not hot). Thick body, creamy texture. Very well brewed stout.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle (at Micheladas del Semaforo, BB Mar 2015). Head is initially small, mostly diminishing. Body is black. Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, molasses, roasted grain), with light notes of anise and alcohol. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/creamy texture, lively/soft carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
A bit simple, but certainly drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
A great mexican beer and the best mexican stout! This unfiltered beer is so very well balanced you can barely feel the 9% alc. vol. You can smell the caramel and raisins all right but when it comes to flavor, on top of the chocolate and coffee, this unique beer offers you an extra kick of chile (nothing too spicy). It tastes just like a creamier more sophisticated version of Rámuri’s Lágrimas Negras (wich is still one of my favorites).

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a very good and interesting Stout, this beer was created specially for Mexican food made with "mole negro" that´s the reason why they add chili on this beer, but in spite of that it doesn´t taste spicy at all, it has a real character, in the appeareance the smooth colour is brown and the body of the beer is very dark, almost completly black, definitly one of my favourite national beers, along with "Rámuri - Lágrimas Negras".

Amazing Stout, i can drink one of this every time I go the bar. Nice solid body, the foam could be better it doesn’t last so much. The chili taste at the end is really good, I think is the best Mexican beer.
