allendodd (11), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Nov 6, 2009 Another groovy can with a green anodized pull tab from bhensonb in a great trade. Small, quickly dissipating head with a deep amber, slightly hazy pour. Initial nose is the caramel form the malt followed by light floral hops. The initial taste is a little sweet but finishes with a well balanced medium dryness. In a cooler of light lagers at a picnic, I’d pull out one of these any day, but wouldn’t drive to the store for one. beersearcher (197), Glendale, California, USA Nov 5, 2009 Simply well done. Nice red color. easy to drink but with nice malt backbone. not sugary but has a good touch of sweetness. bblack99 (195), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Oct 28, 2009 Single can purchased at Olive or Twist in Platte City, MO. How the heck did an Oregon beer with only 47 ratings make it to Small Town, Missouri?!?
Anyway, this is a tasty little "malt bomb". Hazy amber-brown with a nice cap of off-white head. Some sticky lacing, but in a spotty pattern instead of well-formed rings.
Smells like a rising ball of bread dough with a tiny touch of Cascade hops. Flavor is straightforward, malt on malt. Not terribly sweet despite the Crystal presence, just like drinking down a loaf of wheat bread.
Simple, flavorful, and done well. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Oct 25, 2009 Can from BevMo. Medium amber/brownish in color. Somewhat bready aroam. Some hop presence as well. Quite malty. Some spicy hop flavors finish it up. Quite dry and somewhat roasty. Pretty good little amber. marcus (1821), Sacramento, California, USA Oct 18, 2009 This reddish amber beer poured with a decent beige head and a toffee aroma. The fluffy head subsided, leaving a sweet tasty caramel malt brew with a little carbonation and a nutty hop finish. Fin (3371), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Oct 14, 2009 Can that I picked up from Bellingers, Jet Garage, Grove Nr Wantage, Oxon, consumed 15-10-09 pours orange with a slight orange tinge, off white head which is a bit filmy, also touch of haze and medium carbonation. Some toffee in the bite, touch of stickiness and sweet malts but these are more than balanced out by the crisp refreshing nature of this beer. Soft in the mouth, a little flush of fresh hops, very pleasant. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov15 3.7 AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Oct 14, 2009 12 oz can. Clear amber with a lingering beige head. Grainy malt grist, and mild nutty malt aromas. Medium body. Mild roasted nutty flavors with sweet caramel.
