3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerBelcher (972) - Columbus, USA - JUL 11, 2009
Most beers self-described as amber ales aren’t too exciting and this one, while solid, falls into that category.
Appearance is a very reddish and bright body with a soapy head that quickly fades to a light scum around the edges of the glass. Aroma is biscuit-y at first, with some hops around the edges of the malt aroma..."balanced" came to mind as a descriptor. Flavor is mostly malty, but has a nice mellow caramel character and some metallic-ness in the finish. Mouthfeel is light and effervescent. Pretty good, but not exactly a knock-out.
BTW - I liked the packaging of this beer; both that it was in a can and the artwork on the can.
Thanks to JaBier for supplying me a can of this beer!
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 blackmurder (216) - sadf, Hawaii, USA - APR 26, 2012
On tap at hot mama’s in Eugene Oregon. Appearance is of the standard affair. Nothing too outstanding here but quite beautiful nonetheless. The taste is quite impressive. Kind of has a nutty almost hemp-like backbone with a floral background and an earthy "smell of autumn" crispness. Pretty complex for an Amber. Easy to drink and super pleasant mouth feel. Ambers are one of my least favorite styles but I’d get this one again. Comparable to African Amber by Mac and Jacks.

9 feb 2012, bottle. Orange with pink tint, clear, no bubbles. Great orange pulp and sweet grapefruit hops, some sawdust, alcohol, and oatmeal. Med body and a bit fizzy. Sweet grapefruit and caramel. Hops are grassy and a twinge butter. Really tastes like a sweet, amber version of their Pale ale

In can at home. Pours a beautiful amber colour with a thick off-white head. Lovely hoppy aroma of pineapple, mango, yeast and caramel. Similar flavours with a chewy caramel malt backbone. Peppery, resinous finish. Really tasty with moderate carbonation and CO2 prickle.

More pale than amber, medium bodied ale. Citrus hops are present, but not over powering. Ashland Amber works as a canned beer, and is tailgate worthy.

I’m not usually an enthusiast of drinking canned beer. I’ll do it if there is no other option, but by and large if I can’t have it in a pint from a bar, I’ll go for bottles. This is me seriously branching out.
Good amber colour with a white head with hoppy green tinges. It smelt initially of pineapple coming out of the can. On closer nasal inspection, spruce and hops initially and then a good dose of malt.Flavours are cool and then good mouthfeel and a developing blood orange tinge of hoppy bitterness. It lingers tangily on the sides of the tongue and sits, enduring on my tongue. For all the trepidation of the whole can thing, not bloody bad.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 omegamike (90) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 4, 2012
From can. Beautiful golden pour with a thin white head. Aroma is wheat, polished wood, hints of citrus hops. Flavour is sweet, again, malty wheat and barley, plenty of crystal malt here. Dangerously drinkable, generally a very tasty brew.

Can from Cherry Hill Wine & Liquors. Clear amber pour supporting a thin light tan head. Very little lacing. Biscuity aroma with a little citrus. Crisp, malt-forward flavor. Medium silky texture with a bit of hop bitterness in the finish.
