Can. The pour was a cloudy medium orange with a slight pink hue and an average sized (1-2 finger) off white frothy head that receded slowly, down to a thin cap with a large collar creating some good streaky lacing. The aroma was moderately heavy of a biscuit malt, floral and cascade hops and an earthy yeast with notes of caramel, citrus (grapefruit) and a mild fruity ester (apple). The taste was lightly malty sweet with a hint of caramel from the onset, becoming a light bitter sweet with a nice touch of hops and citrus towards the end. The flavor was somewhat short in duration with a light sweet grapefruit flavor left behind. Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with a light to medium carbonation. Overall a tasty Amber Ale that was lightly fruity sweet with a nice hoppy feel and a great drinkability...

(Caldera Ashland Amber Ale) Can 355 ml at home, into a tulip, ABV 5.6% More like dark orange in colour than amber on the body, two fingers of off-white head with good density, good retention too, leavinf medium lacing on the glass. Malty aroma, caramel, grass, but also hops and fruity notes. Mildly sweet taste, with malts, caramel, soap, grass, light citrus, hops. Bitter finish and aftertaste. Medium body, lively carbonation. Quite good, nice thirst-quencher.

Can from Joni’s. Pretty decent for an amber. Pours rich amber color with a generous, yet uneven white head. Malt and sweetness upfront (amber) with a decent amount of hops in the finish (oregon). Grapefruit. pine, floral, and some resin notes. Pretty crisp. Light-ish body. Very enjoyable summer amber.

Can: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized white head on top of an almost clear amber colored beer. Aromas of malts, caramel, hops, very nice grapefruit tones with a light citrussy layer, some soap, light grainy and some flowers. Flavours of malts, caramel, some fruity hops, light bitter, light sweetwood touch, some herbal and malty wood tones. Aftertaste is a mix of malts, dry floral tones, some bitters, light caramel and some fruity cardboard tones. Low carbo, light creamy mouthfeel, good medium bodied and a light creamy texture. Nice malty, balanced fruity and decent with it’s bitterness ans subtle hop tones. Good beer.

Can. Clear amber with small white head. Sweet malts, some nuts and dried fruits, caramel, raisins. Good kick of apricots with a hint of pine. Light sweetness that quickly morphed into a dry bitterness that lasts into the finish. Medium bodied with slightly low carbonation. Decent stuff.
