Beardface (984), Eugene, Oregon, USA Mar 19, 2009 On tap at Bailey’s Taproom. Deep red pour with a very tiny white head. Nice fruit flavor with a solid pine hop bite. Very good smelling and tasting and well balanced. Caldera kept winning with me until I tried the Pils... ndubs360 (114), portland, Oregon, USA Jan 29, 2009 Tap @ Baily’s taproom. Pours a dark red (not amber) color with a small white head. This beer was nice and subtle. Hints of toffee and grass. the hops made themselves known before fading nicely into the matiness of the beer... good red ale. boFNjackson (1261), Portland, Oregon, USA Jan 25, 2009 Tap @ Horse Brass Pub... Poured dark red with a thin off-white head. Smooth palate with mild carbonation. Some soapy undertones and dry hops for a nice bitterness. Other caramel malt flavors and maybe toffee. stchloe (482), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 29, 2008 In a glass it is a really pretty beer. But proves that an incredibly good red can come from a can. cathcacr (588), Portland, Oregon, USA Mar 17, 2008 On draft at the Laurelhurst Brew and View. Went alright with the specialty pizza and was more than the $3 ticket. More commendable than the film (Atonement) IMO. SamuraiArtist (292), portland, Oregon, USA Aug 11, 2007 Draft at Horse Brass: Small white head, dark dark amber red color. Aroma of slightly fruity malts and citrusy hops. Flavor is moderately malty and has notes of fruity esters, moderate hop bitterness and citrus and floral hop flavors, i am picking up some amarillo. Very clean and very crisp. Nearing ipa levels of hops. Just a very good and drinkable ale. presario (2956), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 28, 2006 On tap at Horse Brass. Rich red copper colour. Nice lasting foam. Gorgeous hop aroma. Caramel and hop flavours. Delicious. I really enjoy the blending of styles in the PNW. I want a keg of this at home. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Feb 1, 2006 What a great beer! Deep copper coloring almost red with an off white sticky head. Aroma is fruit and almost akin to walking into a flower garden. Sweet and floral throughout, with a rich and sweet maltiness that is creamy and nutty, with some great doughiness and a nice hop level as well. Just this side of wonderful.
