3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (9004) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 6, 2012
Tap at the tap house. Pours rose with an off-white head. Aroma is unusual and does contain ginger. Flavor is definite hibiscus with firm underlying ginger. It’s a bit herbal, not wholly floral, and it’s great stuff. Hibiscus and ginger in the finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 skoisirius (1200) - Earth, Washington, USA - JUL 6, 2011
Lovely light blood red pour, little head. Nose is mainly hibiscus and sweet malts in the best way. Flavor starts light and directly moves into being able to taste the ginger all over the palate. Directly after this the hibiscus infuses with the ginger mid palate and blends perfectly, leaving an incredibly light, yet tasteful aftertaste. It’s simple and straightforward, and good at what it is!

2009 Oregon Brewers Festival – Portland, OR
Aroma: Nice malt aroma the ginger was very faint if there at all.
Appearance: Golden in color, Hazy with a light head.
Flavor: Very faint ginger flavor this was too light. The malt was light also.
Palate: Dry light Finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: I was disappointed with this beer. Too light in my book needed ore in every department.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2009 Its not ginger ale but gingered ale. Nice light organic body with a good taste of ginger. Obviously a clean palate but not burning at all. Nice fruityness and its pretty.

OBF 2008. I like ginger. This was interesting, from the name I pictured this beer to be more like a beer version of the spicy Reed’s ginger ale. This beer turned out to be more like fresh ginger off a sushi plater. I wish it had more spiciness and a more carbonated palate so it was more like good ginger ale. This felt a bit flat and bland, so the ginger didn’t do much for me with the boring base beer.

On tap at Oregon Brewers Festival 2008--First, let me say that I usually do not enjoy ginger in my beer, but this one was a huge exception. Subtle ginger snaps and spicy hops nose with a hint of cereal. Pale bodied with a medium-sized white head. Very nice. Worthy of a full pint!

On tap at the Oregon Brewer’s Festival. Of the 3 flavored beers at the festival I tried, this one was my favorite. I also agree it would be good with sushi.
