beersearcher (203), Glendale, California, USA Nov 5, 2009 This is a lovely protypical west coast IPA. Strong hop aroma and taste but it doesn’t overdo it. Easy to drink. nice orange/amber color. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Nov 1, 2009 Thanks to adamharbaugh for sending this one along. Pours amber orange witha frothy white head. Nose is PINE with floral hops, malt, slight citrus, sap, honey, apricot, and loquat. Flavor is similar with prickly hop bitterness, florals, nice malt backbone, and apricot. Light to medium body and enjoyable canned IPA. Another joins the microcanning revolution. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Oct 20, 2009 Can from BevMo. Medium amber/reddish in color. Stong citric hop aroam. Quite bitter. Some sweetness as well. Pungent hoppy flavors up front. Good bitterness, but not overpowering. A hint of sweetness follows. Nice little IPA. Guerde (693), Welcome, Minnesota, USA Oct 19, 2009 (psychedelic can from bhensonb, thanks!) Pours a hazy dark orange/amber with a medium white head and thick lacing. Aroma displays prominent caramel, biscuit, cut grass (more specifically fresh cut wet grass), stewed tomatoes, pepper, and a bit of garlic. Kind of weird. Pine pops in from time to time, but this specific can lacks any of the citrus in the aroma that others are describing. The flavor has some caramel and bread which is followed by a period of nothing (maybe a faint hint of orange, but that’s a stretch) before being replaced by some pepper and a purely bitter piney hop bite on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium. Thanks Bill! nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Oct 14, 2009 Can from K&L Redwood City. Pours a bright medium amber color with a two-finger, lasting off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is piney and citrusy hops, a touch of sweet malt, and tropical fruits. Flavor is a little pale and caramel malt, but mostly showcases a complex hop profile, with pine, pineapple, orange, and grapefruit. Very bitter. Crisp palate with medium body and carbonation. Best canned IPA I’ve had after Surly Furious. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Oct 14, 2009 Brilliant amber color with a lasting beige head. Big spruce sap hop aroma. Smooth medium body. Well balanced flavor is big floral and citrus hops on a lightly sweet, bready pale malt base. Kick ass canned ipa. reakt (938), Greater London, England Oct 11, 2009 Can from Uto. Amber with a lasting off white head. Nose of orangey/piney hops and caramel. Taste is quite sweet and malty with some nice bitter hops. Looks like the pale is the best of the three I’ve had so far. ksurkin (354), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Oct 10, 2009 12oz can from grape & gourmet. pours a clear, light gold with a thick, soapy white head and great lacing. aroma is quite pleasing with bright citrus notes of pink grapefruit and tangelo, soapy and sugary floral hop notes, a touch of tropical fruit, and just a hint of pine and honey. flavor is very nice as well with fresh grapefruit, orange, and lemon notes backed by resinous pine and slightly sweet floral hops and toasted caramel malts leading to a bitter, dry, citrusy finish. palate is smooth and very sessionable with solid carbonation. overall, a well done IPA from a can.
