Aroma is hops, hops, hops with a touch of citrus. Taste is big piney hops with caramel and citrus notes and a mild spiciness. Medium bodied with a bittering finish. A great hop head IPA. bblack99 (202), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Pours a coppery tan, just a bit more orange than the color of a nice glass of iced tea. Aroma is heavy on caramel and pine, but the flavor profile is clearly influenced by tons of crystal malt (aka lots of sweetness). There’s a big bite from the hop mix, and the other malts try to tame the sugary Crystal, but can’t quite keep up.
A bit astringent and twangy at the end, the flavors get a little sloppy. Nice for a canned IPA, but OB Gordon still owns the championship belt. msante79 (819), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 20, 2009 12oz can at Tapwerks in OKC. Pours orangish copper with large white head. Aroma is hoppy with grapefruit, pine, caramel and sweet malt. Flavor is hoppy and citrusy but there is a large amount of sweet malt that is a little overdone for my palate. Has good hop profile but if do not IPAs that loaded with sweet malt you might not like this one. That being said as far OKC goes this is probably in the top 2 or 3 IPAs available. Glad I was able to try. phishpond417 (1935), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Pours a bright clear pramge colour with some alcohol floating around I think, maybe its my beer perspiring, not sure. Huge frothy white head. Instant stanky aroma of wet hops and grapefruit skins. Taste has that grapefruit quality to it where it’s initially sweet but it quickly gets bitter near the finish. Took the last few sips out of the can as advised by my buddy. Great beer!" Bitzybrew (37), New York, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Got this in a recent beer trade with a friend of mine in Seattle, WA. I was really impressed by how much flavor the hops contributed to the beer. The initial taste was citrusy and somewhat floral hop notes along with some biscuity malt, while the aftertaste was more herbal and grassy hop notes along with sweet biscuity malt. Very Balanced! beersearcher (223), Glendale, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 5, 2009 This is a lovely protypical west coast IPA. Strong hop aroma and taste but it doesn’t overdo it. Easy to drink. nice orange/amber color. markwise (1175), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Thanks to adamharbaugh for sending this one along. Pours amber orange witha frothy white head. Nose is PINE with floral hops, malt, slight citrus, sap, honey, apricot, and loquat. Flavor is similar with prickly hop bitterness, florals, nice malt backbone, and apricot. Light to medium body and enjoyable canned IPA. Another joins the microcanning revolution. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 20, 2009 Can from BevMo. Medium amber/reddish in color. Stong citric hop aroam. Quite bitter. Some sweetness as well. Pungent hoppy flavors up front. Good bitterness, but not overpowering. A hint of sweetness follows. Nice little IPA.
