3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted on 10/9/11 from a 12oz can. Pours hazy burnt orange with a thick, foamy, off-white head that slowly recedes to rocky lace, leaving thick residue along the inside of the glass. The nose is full of resin, citrus, and herbal hops, with caramel malt, rye bread, and a lightly spicy aroma underlying. The flavor is spicy and bitter with resin, herbal, and citrus peel hops, and a nice malty caramel and bread backbone. The body is medium with average carbonation and a very long, pleasantly bitter resin and herbal hops finish.

On tap, poured into a shaker. The aroma is mild and malty with hints of caramel and citrus. The beer is clear and oily with a rich copper orange head and a dense, light tan foam that has great retention and lace. The medium bodied beer is balanced at a medium, smooth bittersweet level. The oily texture has a fuzzy carbonation with flavors of toffee and bread crust with a bit of citrus joining at the finish. The aftertaste is bready with clean citrus.
