This beer struck me as a very malt-forward IPA; lots of caramel was evident from start to finish in both its aroma and flavor. Even it’s color, in a different sense, could be described as caramel. It was a pretty good beer, but I prefer my IPAs to be a little more hop dominant, and a little less malty. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t think it was anything to write home about. Color was a dark rich amber color, with a good amount of head. Aroma was malt first, with lots of caramel notes and some hoppiness. Flavor was exceedingly balanced, more like an amber ale than an IPA, with the hops just barely peeking out from behind more caramel flavor. Mouthfeel was light, crisp, and pleasant. Quite a satisfying beer, but it didn’t really scratch my itch for hops. A huge thank you to JaBier for gifting me a can of this beer; otherwise I probably never would have tried it.

Can or two with Pat enjoyed during some Arrested. Pours an amber body with light haze. Aroma is lightly fresh, citrus hop. Mouthfeel is bitter with notes of hops and a light malt base. Ok.

Clear dark orange pour. Thin head. Crisp floral aroma. Medium bodies and well balanced malt to hold up the huge hop flavor. Crisp and great west coast flavor ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a beautiful golden amber colour with not much head or lacing. Only a mild aroma of malt. Tastes of pine, slight grapefruit, with a nice nutty finish. This is a great beer, really like it

Sweet smell with hints of orange, lemon zest, and mango. Gorgeous darker gold color with a slowly fading head that leaves good lacing on the pint. The Amarillo and Simcoe hops give a great account of themselves with a solid malt backing. Good bitterness and various flavors of citrus, sticky pine, and bready malt. This is a very solid left coast IPA that I will seek out again.

Can @ The Rover. Pours clear amber with a small creamy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving a small lace on the glass. Smell is rather subtle and slightly sweet with pineapple, mango, papaya, pine, lemon zest and hints of caramel and alcohol. Taste is sweet and slightly bitter with caramel, gummi candy, pine, grass, orange zest and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is round, tiny sticky sweet and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with caramel, pine and orange peal.

I like it. The hop oils aren't distracting, and it has an easier finish than many IPAs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Great malt and hop balance. This is one of the finer IPAs I've ever had. Delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A great IPA. Pours light brown with a light head. Rich hoppy aroma and flavor on a nice malty canvas. Yeasty and toffee notes. Not overwhelmingly hoppy like a lot of IPA’s I’ve had. I would buy this again.
