KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jul 16, 2009 Can from Santa. Thanks! Pours a semi-thin cheddar orange with a lively body and a head of white that leaves a nice latticework of lacing around the glass. Aroma is almost pure hopyy grapefruit; hints of pine and orange are in there as well but the dominant figure here is grapefruit. Flavor is dominated by the aforementioned frut, with bits of orange and pine in the finish. Full, coating, tingly mouthfeel. A great IPA; I want more of this. LtDan (471), LA - Originally from South NJ!, California, USA Oct 9, 2009 Appearance: Pours an bright amber gold with a 1/4 inch of sudsy head. Leaves tons of lacing on the glass.
Aroma: Huge amounts of grapefruit, orange, floral scents, a touch of pine and sweet malt.
Taste: Juicy grapefruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, pine, sweet and spicy malt. Ends with a big bitter hops presence.
Mouthfeel: Juicy and medium bodied.
Overall: I was quite pleased with this beer. It has everything I want in an IPA. Hopeye (39), Oregon, USA Jun 24, 2009 It’s a good IPA. In a can. Just took a case of it down the wild section of the Rogue River on a raft trip (no bottles allowed). I had "yellow can" after a good rapid. I had a yellow can first thing at camp. I had a yellow can for breakfast! And it’s not just the novelty of the can--it’s really a solid IPA. I have no idea what it looks like, because I’ve never poured it, but I imagine it looks as good as it tastes. And did I mention that it comes in a can?! We bought it in Ashland for $26 a case, but in Portland it’s $10 a sixer. They need to work on that. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA May 1, 2008 Can from Beerzack. Thanks!
Pours Semi-clear reddish amber witha big lasting chunky whitish head that leaves lots of lacing. Smell is sweet fruity, fresh and hoppy. Very nice. Taste is smooth with fruity caramel and fresh citrusy, and sweet orange flavored hops and bitter citrus rind. Nice and strongly bittered which lasts in the finish but with a light lingering sweetness too. Very good IPA. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA May 2, 2008 5-1-08 can thanks to Beerzach!
Amber orange medium pour with a nice big soapy white head and small speckled lacing everywhere. Smell is bright and clean hops - almost like green apples and grapefruit up front. Flavor is nice and bitter citris hops. Finishes dry and clean. This is bright and balanced - a nice treat for the palate. Overall, a great treat for me - bitter and dry and yummy! tdcritch (112), Missouri, USA Apr 9, 2009 Can, first IPA I found in a can, $13 seemed alittle steep for a six pack, but it is a great IPA. Good hop aroma and a sweet bitter after taste. Taverner (827), San Ramon, California, USA Aug 9, 2009 THE best canned IPA ever! Better than Gordon! Better than BFOD! Better than DPA! It just works! Nice soapy head, on a copper pour. Fresh and floral. Lots of grapefruity notes. Finish is bitter, but clean. awiseman01 (318), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Oct 5, 2009 Can from OTM in Point Loma. Pours slight cloudy golden/orange with 1/2" foamy white head. Nose is delicious tangerine, citrus and passion fruit hops...one of the more inviting aromas I can recall on an IPA. Flavor is pretty much in line with the nose, decent amount of hops and a nice blend of carbonation. Finish is a little dry and earthy, a little unpleasant compared to the nose and initial taste. Overall very good IPA.
